The Pond Racer made its debut at the Reno Air Races in 1991.
The Pond Racer was simply an amazing race plane, and one witness said "I'll never forget how it sounded, it sounded amazing" (paraphrased).
Saddly, due to poor engineering the Pond Racer N221BP had oil loss and oil pressure issues, and the engines blew, and crashed in a forced landing on September 14th 1993, killing pilot Rick Brickert.
